September '21
This place is a mirror
The breeze that haunts it-
Tells my skin things
It could have never known
Clouds hang, forbearing
And yet slowly sailing,
Dragging dead stories home
City lights kiss a clouded horizon
White blush, a thunderous giggle
The night has only begun
My heart wails
And neither knows nor needs reason
For its tears to mix with blood.
My mind sits powerless as ever
To console its partner's tantrum.
Throwaway Haiku
Cursed, are we
To need and want all
That is far?
In your shoulders, these tears long to dissolve
The back of my head, your gentle caress recalls
And like dry lands crave the touch of rain,
These sodden eyes crave to meet yours again.
This desert, my love
Do you, like me, know its pain?
To quench a parched heart
Only chilled desolation remains.
